A British Design Classic

Over the last weekend we where back in London to meet up with a few friends around Brick Lane, check out some stores and take a tour of the home counties around London for a few projects. We came across a british design classic in the for of the Morris Minor (the owner was very proud of it).
Morris Minor was produced as a cheap alternative between 1948-1974 designed under the leadership of Sir Alexander Arnold Constantine Issigonis CBE FRS, a greek-british designer who is probably best known for his other greater creation the Mini. Over 1.3 million Morris Minors where produced from the classic 1000, to the wooden paneled estate version. The first prototype lent it's self to the mosquito airplanes of the 1940's and was called the "morris mosquito" - all in all a great design classic born out of a time when practically and price was key. Rings some familiarity to these days

Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam

One of our favorite places to get inspired in Amsterdam (and there are many places) as well as enjoying a bit of quite time is the Stedelijk Museum - it is in its temporary location as the new museum is built, but it is well worth a visit.

I Break Horses

Music we are liking at the moment is Swedish band - I Break Horses - aka Maria Lindén, her sound is not like the traditional left of centre Swedish bands, but is a nod to the shoe shuffling gene with her influences listed as Slowdive, Cocteau Twins and Ride. Hearts is one of her songs released ahead of her album which  features remixes from the likes of the Chemical Brothers and Star Slinger. - Check out video great atmosphere!!!  http://vimeo.com/23403268

w1today

On a fine sunny morning a couple of weeks ago we caught up with the guys behind w1today at their office overlooking the lovely grachts of Amsterdam. It was a couple of days before the launch of their new site and to be honest things where fairly relaxed, so not taking up too much of their time and over a great cup of coffee we discussed Jack Flynn along with a few other projects we are working on. Thanks for the write up in the fashion section and look forward to working on the rest of the projects together. Check the website for some good modern lifestyle articles. www.w1today.com (it's in Dutch but ok but then that is what google chrome translate is for).
